USFoil and SailSync Announce Partnership

USFoil and SailSync Partner to Bring Coaching Analytics to the Foiling Pathway

USFoil has announced a new partnership with SailSync, a coaching analytics and live coaching platform built for competitive sailing programs.

The partnership connects SailSync’s data and coaching tools with USFoil’s national development model, which is focused on building HUBs across the United States where young sailors can access boats, coaching, technology and a clear pathway into high performance foiling.

SailSync turns GPS session data into structured coaching reports, helping coaches move more quickly from raw tracks to useful feedback. The platform works with the devices sailors and coaches already use, including mobile devices, Vakaros, Garmin, Velocitek, Sailmon, Strava and other GPS sources. SailSync’s FLOAssist AI coaching assistant supports live on water coaching and post session review, helping coaches and athletes identify clearer next steps from each training session.

As part of the partnership, SailSync will provide the head coach at each USFoil HUB with access to its Gold Coach system, allowing unlimited boats within the HUB program to utilize the platform. This gives local coaches the ability to build long term athlete tracking and structured training systems without creating barriers to participation at the sailor level.

In addition, every sailor selected to the USFoil Youth Development Team, North American Race Team and Podium Team will receive complimentary access to SailSync. The goal is to create continuity between local training environments and national level competition programs so sailors and coaches can move between systems without losing data, training history or established coaching workflows.

For USFoil, that continuity is a major part of the long term vision behind the HUB model. Young sailors can begin training at their local venue using the same coaching analytics systems and feedback structures that will later support them at national championships, training camps and international events.

“The best sailors of tomorrow are learning how to use data before the competition starts,” USFoil said. “SailSync gives coaches and sailors a practical way to turn training into evidence, feedback and improvement.”

SailSync is designed around the coaching process rather than data for its own sake. Its platform can analyze starts, maneuvers, speed, VMG, heel, pitch, course detection, wind estimation, lineups and mark roundings, then turn that information into reports and debrief material that sailors can revisit between sessions.

Robert Rice, Cofounder of SailSync, said the company sees strong alignment between its platform and the long term vision behind USFoil.

“USFoil is building something that goes beyond individual events or short term programs,” said Rice. “They are creating a connected development structure where coaches, sailors and local venues can all work from the same systems and continue building knowledge over time. We believe that kind of continuity is incredibly important for athlete development and we are excited to support it.”

That ability fits directly into the USFoil HUB model. As local programs begin developing foiling sailors across the country, consistent coaching language and repeatable training systems will become increasingly important. SailSync gives coaches a way to document progress over time, compare sessions and help sailors arrive at the next practice with a clearer understanding of what to improve.

USFoil Head Coach Agustin Ferrario said the partnership will help connect local sailor development with the demands of elite competition.

“One of the biggest challenges in coaching is maintaining consistency as sailors move between local training, clinics, camps and major regattas,” said Ferrario. “SailSync gives us a shared platform where sailors and coaches can continue building from the same information and training history. That makes debriefs more productive and helps athletes progress more efficiently.”

The partnership also supports USFoil’s broader effort to connect youth sailors with the professional and competitive pathways now forming around modern foiling. As SailGP, America’s Cup, Olympic and high performance programs increasingly rely on data informed training, young sailors who understand both feel and evidence will be better prepared for the demands ahead.

Together, the integration between HUBs and the USFoil Race Teams is intended to create cleaner transitions for sailors moving into larger national and international events. Coaches and athletes can continue using the same systems, training language and performance analytics with minimal interruption to development programs as sailors progress through the pathway.

SailSync’s tools are already positioned for yacht clubs, college programs, private coaches, competitive sailors and high performance teams, making the platform a natural fit for a pathway that begins at local HUBs and can extend toward national and international competition.

For USFoil, the announcement is another step toward building a modern development system around Dinghy Foiling. Boats, coaching, technology and philanthropy are being brought together with one goal: helping more young sailors train where they live, improve with purpose and see a future in the sport.

“SailSync understands where competitive sailing is going,” USFoil said. “This partnership helps us bring those tools to the sailors and coaches who are building the future.”
